Children’s clothes (Kinderkleidung) have to be just as fashionable and up to date as the clothes that adults buy. Very often children want to copy the sort of clothes that they see their parents or their big brother and sister wearing. In the shops different fashions are available for even the tiniest of children and people buying birth gifts will buy a present consisting of baby clothes in the latest fashion. While all this may be very nice sometimes children look more like teenagers than little children and appear to be older than what they really are.
Another important thing that parents should remember when buying children’s clothes is that they should be comfortable to wear at school as children can concentrate much better if they aren’t too hot or too cold. It is very important in the summer for children to be sent to school in something light that they will feel cool in and equally during the winter their clothing should be warm but not too heavy. People should also remember when they are buying children’s clothes as birth gifts (Geburtstagsgeschenke) that the fashionable baby wear has to be comfortable and not restrict the baby from moving freely. Feeling too hot or too cold will make a baby very restless and not be able to settle properly.
Boys want to look just as trendy as the girls do nowadays and often like to copy how footballers dress or the latest super hero of the day. Girls copy the latest pop idol or want to look like someone that they watch on the television. It is just as important for children’s clothes to be fashionable as it is for the adults. A child at school will want to look just as good as the rest of their friends and often pressure will be put on the parents to buy the latest trend in children’s clothes. All parents need to make sure though that the clothes they are buying, regardless of the latest craze, should be appropriate wear for school. If a child goes to school in something which is totally unacceptable for the classroom very often that child will be sent home again.
Wearing the proper children’s clothes can have an enormous affect on how well that child can concentrate. Something that is too tight or clothing that keeps slipping down because it is too big can soon become a source of irritation and the child will begin to pay more attention to their clothing than what the teacher is talking about. While not everyone agrees that a school uniform is better for children, parents should make sure when they send their child to school that the clothes they go in can stand up to the everyday rough and tumble life in the school playground. Also when people are buying clothes as birth gifts although there is such a vast range of fashionable children’s clothes to choose from, always make sure they are hard wearing and comfortable.
